Hello Sir:

... As for any questions about Oklahoma or when any of the Indian nations celebrate the day, suggest you contact a guy who calls himself "Ayastigi", he's a Cherokee who lives in Oklahoma and seems most knowledgeable about Indians and their support for the Confederacy.

Ayastigi's email address is [email protected].

... Hope this information helps.

Greetings Sir:

Thank you for your interests. The governor of the state of Oklahoma won't even meet with us concerning a Confederate Memorial Day.  However, we will continue to pray that the next governor will be a bit more cordial.
The Cherokee Nation has not set aside a Confederate Memorial Day, but several groups are working towards becoming recognized.  Brig. Gen. Stand Watie, CSA was a Cherokee who provided invaluable service to the Confederacy.  Using his name and his achievements, we hope to be successful in our endeavors.  I'll keep you posted on the situation.

Kind regards,
